SAFETY GUIDANCE
Protect yourself before taking action.
Listings and private messages are user-submitted information, not verification. Confirm every material fact independently before considering a proposed transfer.

Understand the board’s role
Halted Stock Board is an information directory. It does not verify Listings or users and is not a broker, exchange, alternative trading system, escrow service, custodian, attorney, or transfer agent.
The board never holds funds or securities. It does not negotiate, price, execute, clear, or settle a transaction.
Verify independently
- Do not treat a Listing, share count, display name, username, or verified email as proof of identity or ownership.
- Confirm the security’s current status using the relevant exchange, regulator, issuer, broker, or transfer agent.
- Ask your broker and transfer agent whether the proposed transfer is permitted, what documents are required, and whether they can complete it.
- Independently verify the other participant and any professional or institution they introduce.
- Do not rely on screenshots, account statements, email headers, or documents supplied by an unknown person without independent confirmation.
Protect account and financial information
Never send passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, full account numbers, unredacted account statements, identity documents, tax identifiers, or remote-device access through the board.
Private messages are visible to the other participant and should not be treated as a secure document vault. Share only the minimum information reasonably necessary, and use independently verified professional channels for sensitive documents.
Watch for warning signs
- pressure to act immediately, keep the arrangement secret, or avoid your broker or transfer agent;
- requests for advance payments, cryptocurrency, gift cards, wire transfers to unrelated parties, or unusual fees;
- requests for credentials, verification codes, remote access, or complete account documents;
- claims that a transfer is guaranteed, risk-free, pre-approved, or exempt from ordinary broker and compliance review; and
- refusal to provide information that can be independently verified through established institutions.
Consider licensed professional support
Private securities transfers can involve broker, transfer-agent, contractual, regulatory, tax, custody, and settlement requirements. Consider consulting a licensed attorney and, when appropriate, an established escrow provider experienced in securities transfers.
Verify a professional’s identity, license, organization, and contact details independently rather than using only contact information supplied in a private message.
Block and report concerns
Use the board’s block and report controls if a Listing or message appears fraudulent, misleading, abusive, or unsafe. Blocking stops new Contact Requests and private messages in both directions until you unblock the user.
For account compromise, contact the board promptly. For suspected financial fraud or an immediate threat, also contact the relevant broker, financial institution, regulator, law-enforcement agency, or emergency service as appropriate.
Safety concerns can be sent to contact@haltedstock.com or submitted through the board’s Contact us form.
